Painting our porch and our back yard fence, working with my editors on what I hope are the last stages in the production of my novel, preparing to move our store to a new location at work, trying to keep up (unsuccessfully) with the grass and the overgrown trees and the weeds in our yard, making efforts to get the cabin road repair work done at our property in WV, going to our friend and cancer victim Sky Bear’s memorial in Maryland and to a memorial for Pradyumna, a brilliant, successful, and much loved young man (the 19 year old son of a friend of my wife) who took his own life in Pittsburgh … such is life and death.
